WHO WE ARE...

The Missionary Association “Servants of the Gospel of God’s Mercy”[1] is a private association of Christ’s faithful belonging to the Catholic Church which includes all the different states in life. We dedicate ourselves full time to proclaim the Gospel through prayer and a living transmission of the faith, which we help each other to live in community, with the apostolic spirit of the first Christian communities. This is how we want to help our brothers and sisters to respond to the call that God has made them from their baptism, to be disciples of Christ and to reveal his love to everyone. The association was born in 2002 in the Diocese of Münster where it has its principal see.

We want to live the mission that God entrusts us as a humble service. We wish to be servants just like Jesus has been for us, servants at the feet of our brothers and sisters[2]. Thus we desire to show them their authentic dignity of children of God and brother of all people and to form them as authentic apostles of Christ, capable of generating Christian fraternities which engender apostles of Christ.[3]

3. We want to choose the same path as Christ, the Master, who is gentle and humble of heart[4], who did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many[5], who “being rich became poor for our sake to make us rich out of his poverty”[6]. We wish to live and announce the Kingdom incarnating his Gospel and Beatitudes[7] in us.

OUR MISSION

IN THE CHURCH AND AT THE SERVICE OF HER UNIVERSAL MISSION.

48. We want to form apostles of Christ, men and women capable of influencing in the life and sanctity of the Church, because we are full of gratitude towards our Mother Church, aware that there is no time to waste in healing our Total Christ. This is manifested “in the fruits of grace which the Spirit produces in the faithful; it is expressed in many ways in individuals, who in their walk of life, tend toward the perfection of charity, thus causing the edification of others; in a very special way this (holiness) appears in the practice of the counsels, customarily called "evangelical."[1]

49. Christ needs us working in his Church at the service of his Kingdom, so that his salvation can reach to all our brothers and sisters, because “ God does not make men holy and save them merely as individuals, without bond or link between one another. Rather has it pleased Him to bring men together as one people, a people which acknowledges Him in truth and serves Him in holiness.”[2]

50. We believe that “in fact the proclamation only reaches full development when it is listened to, accepted and assimilated, and when it arouses a genuine adherence in the one who has thus received it. An adherence to the truths which the Lord in His mercy has revealed; still more, an adherence to a program of life - a life henceforth transformed - which He proposes. In a word, adherence to the kingdom, that is to say, to the "new world," to the new state of things, to the new manner of being, of living, of living in community, which the Gospel inaugurates. Such an adherence, which cannot remain abstract and unincarnated, reveals itself concretely by a visible entry into a community of believers. Thus those whose life has been transformed enter a community which is itself a sign of transformation, a sign of newness of life: it is the Church, the visible sacrament of salvation[3].
